Benjamin Thiébault begins his musical studies at the Regional Conservatories of Montpellier and Paris, before joining the Jazz and Improvised Music Department of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Subsequently, he takes part in an exchange program with the Amsterdam Conservatory, where he obtains a Master’s Degree in Music Performance.

During his studies, Benjamin Thiébault enjoys prestigious master classes. He performs on the stage of renowned jazz clubs, such as the “Duc des Lombards” in Paris, the “Bimhuis” in Amsterdam, the “Hot Clube de Portugal” in Lisbon, and participates in several international tours (Guadeloupe tour with trumpet player Franck Nicolas, Europe tour with American singer Deva Mahal).

In 2016, he records the album “Roadbook” by Portuguese bassist and composer Marco Martins. The group performs in Seville, and in the southern region of Portugal, in the Algarve (Cine-Teatro Louletano, Festival Internacional de Jazz de Loulé, Cantaloupe Café).

A private teacher since 2011, he works as a substitute teacher in the Paris region (Cultural Center of Courbevoie, School of Music of Chelles, School of Artistic Music) and leads an initiation to improvisation course in Saint-Jean-de-Védas with the Arteshow association. He teaches in the private schools Music For Life in Amsterdam, or L’Anacrouse in Montpellier.

In October 2020, he holds the position of coordinator of the jazz department at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Montauban. He also works at the Conservatoire l’Ampli in Sauvian, where he supervises the modern music department from September 2021 to July 2022.

In addition, he releases a first album in trio, “Emergence” released on October 30, 2020 on label Parallel Records. The album is remarked (HIT Couleurs Jazz, Télérama, Jazz Magazine) and disc of the week Fip in December 2020. He performs on June 19, 2021 at the Sunset Jazz Club for the release of the album, and participates in parallel in other recordings (notably Chai Masters “Magic Realism”).

Recently, Benjamin Thiébault benefits from a residency at L’Artesan Montpellier, during which he offers a local musical program with diverse aesthetics. He is currently setting up several projects and artistic collaborations, in the fields of jazz (Aurel Violas Trio), salsa (Somos Gente) and gospel (Gospel Soul Celebration).
